What a crock of political correctness. Load of bullshit. I would never have been involved in junior sport under this setup…..:(

“Ben Fordham speaks to General Manager of the AFL in NSW – Craig Bolton and psychologist Sandy Rae.  The AFL has banned scoreboard, ladders and match results in all junior leagues. Craig wants the AFL to focus on participation rather than winning. Sandy thinks it’s ridiculous and a blanket approach to address an issue.”

  1. Exactly. My fear is that i would prefer my kids grow up experiencing disappointment and hardship as that would hopefully instill a determination in them which would toughen them up for the real world. I can’t imagine being 11 years old before i realised that there is disappointment out there in the real world and not being able to handle it. It’s political correctness gone mad and resembles some school systems in which there are no grades and no class rankings of students in case reality strikes some child and they realise that everything is not going to be handed to them in life. They may have to train harder, study harder and work harder to get ahead.

  2. To be fair they’re only extending the existing policy to their U’10s but the principle to begin with is ridiculous. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition between kids. What are they trying to prove here?
