‘Start offering courses for students to understand the experiences of men. Stop ignoring the outcomes of men and fathers.’
“In 2009 I entered the Community Psychology Doctoral program at DePaul University. In 18 days I defend my dissertation that reports on the outcomes of divorced and non-custodial fathers. I also have been teaching psychology courses at DePaul since 2011.
As community psychologists we are trained to work with non-profit organizations, to engage in public policy efforts, and to conduct research to help under-represented populations. And here is the irony: This petition, utilizing the skills and training that I received at DePaul, is directed toward their psychology department to expose their lack of classes to help students to understand men’s issues.”
